How to set up a Venmo
for direct Deposit
Follow the instructions below to sign up for Venmo:

Download one of our mobile apps: iOS & Android (Venmo does not have a Windows app)

Open the Venmo app

Choose your sign up method and create a secure password (between 8 and 32 characters long).

Verify your phone number and email address

Add and verify your bank account
You can also sign up for Venmo from your computer here.
Venmo is only available in the United States and only compatible with U.S. based bank accounts and phone numbers. You must also be able to send and receive SMS/text messages from short codes.

Venmo Code?
What is this?
Venmo QR codes make it easier to find, add, and pay friends on Venmo! Just open the scanner in the Venmo app and center the camera over the "Venmo Me" QR code you want to scan. No need to tap! After you scan a friend’s code, you’ll be taken directly to their profile page. There, you can add them as a friend, send, or request funds. When you are viewing your "Venmo Me" QR code you can also share it with a friend through email, text messages, and more.
Where can I find my personal QR code?
To find your personal QR code or scan someone else’s QR code, tap the “Scan” button at the bottom of the screen. There you can scan a QR code or present your personal QR code (“Venmo Me”) to be scanned.
How can I share my personal QR code?
When you open the scanner and tap “Venmo Me,” you’ll see your personal QR code next to your profile picture. Here you’ll also have options to share your personal QR code via text message, email, printing, and more.
